H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, minister of higher education and scientific research today said that the UAE had always sought to provide job opportunities to its citizens.
Addressing a roundtable meeting on 'education for employability, organised by the Higher Colleges of Technology in collaboration with the Middle East Association and the British Council, said the UAE, under the wise leadership of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, was striving to provide quality education to its citizens.
"Three are some challenges facing UAE graduates in general and female graduates in particular because the country's job market is highly competitive and attracting qualified and skilled people from all over the world," Sheikh Nahyan said.
The week-long series of activities focuses on three main events - two roundtable meetings, a series of contact events with vocational education and training institutions from the UAE and UK; and a programme of further education events for employers and students in the UAE.
Experts from the UAE and UK will examine current models of vocational education best practice with a view to creating new models to meet industry standards . (WAM)
