The Emirates Foundation, one of the leading philanthropic institutions in the UAE, today announced its first ever programme of three-year PhD Fellowship awards for UAE nationals.
These full or partial PhD Fellowship awards are available to successful candidates accepted at an accredited university in their specialty. The awards will support advanced study in key areas relevant to the nation's future - Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Environmental Sciences, Planning or Policy, Social Development, Education, and Arts, Literature and Culture.
The deadline to qualify for grants beginning Fall 2008 is Monday, June 30, 2008.
The Emirates Foundation emphasizes that all national applicants for grants must have a Bachelor's university degree or equivalent, and should be prepared to devote their careers to the advancement of knowledge in the UAE.
The Emirates Foundation is planning to make between 10 and 12 Ph.D Fellowship awards this year. The programme will be enlarged in future years, depending on its success in 2008. WAM
