Revamped judiciary sector has seen enhanced performance

Owing to the performance enhancement policy introduced by HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Abu Dhabi Department of Judiciary recently achieved remarkable strides.

The revamped judiciary sector has particularly seen enhanced performance in terms of number of cases seen by the Abu Dhabi courts during 2007.

According to statistics, Abu Dhabi courts were able to look into a total of 62,344 cases and passed verdicts on 60,247 cases, a record litigation time since the establishment of the Abu Dhabi judiciary.

Performance level was put to 97 percent. Other achievements included establishment of a specialised academy for judiciary, a significant step in upgrading performance by way of introduction of beset professional practices.

To ease the flow of work, many committees have been established, including experts and conciliation committees.

"Without the close personal involvement of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department, many of these remarkable achievements would not have been made", said Sultan Saeed Al Badi, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department.
