The 1st annual Abu Dhabi Corporate Leadership Forum (ADCLF)

National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), celebrating its 40th Year Anniversary, announced today it has become the exclusive sponsor of the 1st annual Abu Dhabi corporate leadership forum (ADCLF).

The event is being held under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on February 25, 2008 at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

This extraordinary event, organized by Tri Star Events LLC (TSE), will feature a Conversation with Dr. Alan Greenspan who served for more than 18 years as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the U.S. Federal Reserve, a position for which he was appointed by four U.S. Presidents. He also served as Chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee, the System's principal monetary policymaking body. (AME Info)

In addition to Dr. Greenspan, ADCLF will feature presentations by; Rt. Hon. Lord Christopher Patten, former Governor of Hong Kong (1992-1997) who oversaw the return of Hong Kong to China. Carly Fiorina the first, and, to date, only woman to lead a Fortune 20 company; serving as Chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard Company (1999-2005); John Sculley former Pepsi and Apple CEO who is also co-founder and Managing Partner in London based SCF Growth Equity, an off-balance sheet leveraged buy-out firm which uses innovative structured finance programs consistent with Sharia laws; H.E. Sultan bin Nassser Al Suwaidi, Governor of the United Arab Emirates Central Bank since 1991, most notably during the past few years of accelerated change in the UAE and wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and Pam Woodall who has been the Asia Economics Editor of The Economist since September 2006.

Mellon Bank of New York hosts The UAE Bankers' Forum

The event which is held monthly and organized by Mr. Suleiman Al Mazroui, General Manager Corporate Communications and Community Relations, Emirates NBD, in Abu Dhabi, on the occasion of their 10 year anniversary in the United Arab Emirates.

H.E. Sultan bin Nasser Al Suwaidi, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE also attended.

During the gathering, H.E. Al Suwaidi addressed the audience with a speech that presented the latest developments in the banking sector for the year 2007 and pointed to the bright future which the industry is expected to witness. He stated that under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and in line with the Governments' Federal Strategy, the UAE Central Bank started implementing its strategy which once completed, will enormously improve the environment for the banking business in the UAE.

He added, 'The most important thing that we all have to focus on, at this point-in-time, is to set our business strategies for the short and medium-term to benefit from the opportunities that would be created locally and regionally through the implementation of the Federal Government Strategy.'
